A clean, green and vibrant Jharkhand where human, animal and forest rights are celebrated.
The Ekastha Foundation is an NGO dedicated to working towards the rights of forests and people of Jharkhand.
Jharkhand (Land of Forests)
The state of Jharkhand is known for its rich biodiversity, dense forests and prevalent tribal communities.
Unfortunately, the state’s landscape is being polluted and destroyed by human activity: the rivers are getting depleted, the previously gushing waterfalls are littered with trash and its forests are diminishing. Furthermore, many of the state’s communities are struggling with marginalization and lack of sustainable employment.
Visually impaired people have very limited career options and are marginalized by society. We believe that music can be a viable career option for many visually impaired people. Through Taal, we plan to mentor kids who want to take up music as a profession and help them build a sustainable career.
The Ekastha Foundation is an NGO dedicated to working towards the rights of forest and people of Jharkhand.
Ekastha works in three verticals. :
1. Taal – Promoting music as a sustainable career options for visually impaired people.
2. Sarhul – Cleaning the environment with local engagement with long term goals of environment conservation.
3. Tree Plantation – Planting indigenous trees in and around Jharkhand and distributing fruit bearing trees in village.
To create an equal, just, sustainable and progressive society by improving the quality of life through conservation, cleanliness, empowering the differently-abled, marginalized and deprived communities, ensuring that they live with self-esteem.
Our stories paint a picture of the amazing work Ekastha foundation does around the state of Jharkhand and explore some of the issues facing in the area of Conservation Human Rights, Welfare and Empowerment of differently-abled, marginalized and deprived communities.
